Adopt a Senior Program
Many of the Meals on Wheels in Bandera County seniors are alone with no one visiting them. Some don't have family or may not have family in the area. They miss having someone to talk to. This type of situation is very unhealthy for the senior. A new program is being started at Silver Sage that involves volunteers who will go visit a special senior. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with children who want to set a good example of kindness. Someone who is also alone but is not disabled might want to visit someone else so they both have an enjoyable visit. The goal is for a visit each month but the number of visits is up to the volunteers. With the holidays getting near, this is an excellent time to show others that there are caring people who want to help them.
